Chief Resource Officers

Bert Figueras is the Vice President and Area Chief Resource Officer for The Resource Group supporting the Michigan and Maryland markets. In this role, Bert manages all supply chain activities for Ascension Michigan and Maryland. He has the responsibility of planning, developing, leading, and implementing all actions needed to integrate solutions that will reduce the cost of healthcare for customers of both Ascension and The Resource Group. Bert aso engages with  local leadership and maintains relationships to influence change to continually assist participants in sustainably serving their communities into the future. 

Bert has over 20 years of experience in healthcare supply chain. Before coming to The Resource Group, Bert was Vice President of Operations at The Harvard Drug Group & Major Pharmaceuticals. He also served in the role of Regional Director of Operations at Owens & Minor.

In his time at The Resource Group Bert has held a variety of roles such as Area Senior Director of Operations in Michigan and the Northeast Regions. In this role Bert directly led the deployment of new GPO participants including the successful integration of distributors and contract conversions realizing annual savings of over $2M, as well as co-led strategic local contract initiative for perfusion services within the Michigan Market leading to a projected savings of $2M over five years.

Bert holds a bachelor’s degree in Management from Baker College and a masters degree in Business Administration from Walsh College.
